To see the files that others have shared with you:
- Open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. If you already have a document or workbook open, select File.
- Scroll down and select the Shared with Me tab, or select Open > Shared with Me.
How do you find out who shared a Google Doc with me?
- Open Google Drive and go to the Shared with me section.
- Right click on the document/file who’s owner you want to discover, and select “View details”.
- In the Information Pane on the right side of your screen you’ll see the file details including the owner of the document.
How can you tell if someone left a Google Doc?
In the doc history right hand side panel in drive you can see what the user has done with your doc. Just find the doc in drive and highlight it, then on the right click the information icon and a right hand side panel will appear. You can see what the people you shared it with are doing.
How do you search for Google Docs?
Browser Open the Google Docs spreadsheet in Drive. Open the tab that is relevant for your search. Open “Find and Replace”. Type the term or word you’re searching for into the Find box. Click Find. Exit.
How do you access Google Documents?
Click Drive to access your Google Docs: If you don’t yet have Drive, click Documents instead. In Google Drive (or your Docs list) you’ll see all of the Google Docs you have access to, including documents, presentations, spreadsheets, forms, and drawings. You might also see other types of files.
How do you share files in Google Docs?
Click “Share” in the upper-right corner of an open document. This will open the Share window. If you’re using Google Drive, you can right-click on the file and select “Share”. This isn’t available on Google Docs.

Use Google Docs to create documents that can be shared with others. Google Docs are a great way to collaborate with others on a project. A benefit of Google Docs is that it automatically will save to ensure that you will not lose your work if something crashes.
