Here’s how you share files or folders in SharePoint:
- Select the file or folder you want to share, and then select Share.
- (Optional) Select the dropdown list to change the type of link.
- Enter the names of the people you want to share with and a message, if you want.
- When you’re ready to send the link, select Send.
To attach a link to an old version of a SharePoint document to an email message:
- Right-click the document and select Version History.
- Locate the version you want to attach and click the Copy Link icon ( ) next to it.
- Paste the link into an outgoing email message.

- Upload the email message and any attachments to SharePoint using the add-in button.
- Find the location in SharePoint and apply metadata.
- Move the email message in your Inbox to the Delete folder once you see the success message.
How do I send an email to SharePoint?
Steps to send email using SharePoint designer workflow. Open your site from SharePoint designer 2013. Select workflows from left navigation. Select List workflow and click on Clients list. Enter Name “Send an Email” and description “Send an email when client data added”.
Does SharePoint need exchange to send emails?
Note: By default, SharePoint does not create log entries for outgoing mails. SharePoint never sends email directly. The emails are relayed through the SMTP (Exchange) server configured in Central Administration. For troubleshooting this type of workflow, follow the previous steps.
Visit the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Select Upload at the top of the documents library. In the Add a document dialog box, you can select Browse to upload an individual file. Depending on the version of SharePoint you’re using, you may also be able to upload multiple files by holding down either the CTRL or Shift key, and selecting more than one file.
