Where are SharePoint sync files stored?
When you sync your OneDrive library, your files are placed in a folder named “OneDrive @CompanyName” if the library is hosted on SharePoint in Microsoft 365, and “OneDrive” if the library is hosted on a corporate SharePoint server.

Generally, syncing SharePoint files or OneDrive files will take up the hard disk space/memory on your computer. The default location for the sync folder is C:\Users\YourUserNameYou can choose a different location based on your need, just click Change location when you set up the synchronization.
Changes in SharePoint can be pulled down to Excel by using the Excel Refresh button, but not vice versa. Search for Excel and select the Import Spreadsheet app. Give the app a name and browse to the Excel file you want to import. Enter the URL of the SharePoint site to where you want to import the Excel table.
If the workbooks are stored in SharePoint online, then the workbooks can’t be linked in Excel online directly. You must sync them to your local drive using OneDrive sync client and then using Get & Transform Data in Data tab in Excel, the workbooks can be connected.

There is an option in the tool to turn this on under Links->Manage-Options, this works well and is in use by many of our customers. The tool also provides the worksheet and the cell coordinates in the reports so you know where links are present.
How to enable links in Excel for the web?
