You could then compare it to the full list of page layouts. The edit page layout button is helpful for showing you which page layout is being used in the current view. However, if you are trying to determine if page layouts are being used at all, there is no report that includes this information.
How can I clean out stale custom fields?
When trying to clean out stale custom fields, or better organize them, it would be very useful to be able to see which Page Layout (s) the field is already available on or what formula depends upon it.
Where do I find the layout files in Excel?
To find the layout files, navigate to the unpackaged > layouts path in the directory where you unzipped the file from workbench. You should see a page where it lists all the files you have selected. Click ‘configure parsing options’ and click ‘ok’ to ignore the errors as it tries to parse these as excel files.
