How do you add a publishing instance to AEM?
Steps
- Ensure Java is installed.
- Get a copy of the AEM QuickStart Jar and a license.
- Create a folder structure on your computer like the following:
- Rename the QuickStart JAR to aem-author-p4502.
- Make a copy of the QuickStart JAR, rename it to aem-publish-p4503.
- Double-click the aem-author-p4502.
Which of the following is used to publish content in AEM as a cloud service?
Content Distribution With AEM as a Cloud Service, the replication framework from previous versions of AEM is no longer used to publish pages (move changes from author instance to publish instances). AEM as a Cloud Service now uses the Sling Content Distribution capability to move the appropriate content.
What is the difference between author and publisher in AEM?
AEM Author: The Author instance is used to design, create and review the content which will be published on the application in the future. AEM Publish: The Publish instance is used to make the designed application available to the public and is located in a demilitarized zone.

To review the license terms for a software update, select the software update in the All Software Updates node of the Software Library workspace.
When does an administrator not need to approve a superseding Version?
If an administrator already approved the superseded version, they don’t need to also approve the superseding version. Approval is only for new requests, not superseding upgrades.
