- Navigate to the Tumblr.com login page in your browser.
- Click the title of your blog at the top of the page, and then click “Launch Mass Post Editor” on the right.
- Click the posts that you want to add tags.
- Click the “Add Tags” button at the top of the page.

Why can’t I click on links on Tumblr?
If your page link isn’t working, make sure you’ve included “http://” at the beginning of the URL in the page edit box. If that doesn’t help, it might be something screwy in your custom HTML. If your blog doesn’t show page links, a few things could be happening: You are using a theme that doesn’t support pages.
Why are my Tumblr posts not showing up in tag searches?
It depends. Tumblr has rules on what shows up on tag searches. For example, your posts won’t show up in a tag search if said tag is placed beyond tag #5 in the post you made. This is because Tumblr limits the posts that show up in searches depending on how many tags they have and where a tag is placed.
I have tagged over 700 blog posts with tags containing hyphens, and these tags suddenly stopped working in 2011, because Tumblr decided (without any notice) to forbid hyphens in tags (I guess hyphens are blocked now, because spaces in tags (which are allowed) get changed to hyphens.).
Unfortunately, Tumblr is not willing to globally rename all tags containg hyphens (although these tags are of no use anymore → 404). Now I want to rename my tags myself.
How many tags do you need to put on a Tumblr post?
Note when you published your post, and then you can use those timestamps to scroll all the way back to where your post should be. Added five or fewer tags to your post. Only the first five tags will be indexed in public Tumblr searches, and the first 20 tags on your post will be indexed on your own blog’s tag pages.
