How do you clean no clean solder?
In order to effectively clean and remove no clean solder pastes and no clean flux residues, a polar solvent or a solution of water and saponifier is necessary. Most no clean pastes require an organic saponifier for effective flux removal, but some can be cleaned with inorganic saponifiers.
What is no clean solder wick?
No-Clean Solder Wick. NTE Solder Wick is made from fine copper wire woven together with a no-clean flux formula added to it to increase absorption. Removes up to four times more solder than conventional wick, and extracts solder much faster than wicks based on Type-R fluxes.
Is rosin core solder no clean?
Rosin activated flux cleans best, but will leave a significant amount of residue behind — because of this, rosin activated flux is rarely used. The main advantage of using a no-clean flux is that you won’t need to clean the surface after soldering, because they do not affect electrical conductivity.
Is no clean flux bad?
Flux residues are not the only contamination being removed (ink, salts and solder balls, fingerprints). If you don’t clean the boards, all that junk gets shipped out on the surface, causing unpredictable performance. Flux residues detract from the cosmetic appearance of the boards.
What can you use instead of solder?
Use a torch. Instead of a soldering iron, a propane torch is generally recommended for soldering copper pipes together. These are widely available at hardware stores. Specialized soldering irons can be used for pipe soldering, but a propane torch is just as effective for most jobs, and much cheaper.

How do you solder without flux?
Ways to solder without using flux: Rub the tip of the solder with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Isopropyl alcohol works best for cleaning the metals and surface before soldering. You can use sandpaper or wire scotch- Brite kind of stuff to clean the surface of the PCB as well as to the solder.
