How do you create a component in Eagle?
Here’s how:
- Open Autodesk EAGLE, and you’ll be greeted with the Control Panel.
- Select the Arrow icon to expand the main Libraries and lbr folders, then right-click your personal library and select Open.
- This will open your Library Window.
- Next, enter a name for your package in the New: field and select OK.
How do I import components into Eagle?
Follow these steps to import into Eagle:
- Open Eagle and go to the Control Panel.
- Expand Libraries and you’ll see the lbr folder.
- Locate the part you’ve downloaded from SnapEDA and drag it to the lbr folder in Eagle’s control panel.
- You’ll now see the new part displayed under the lbr folder, right click and select use.

- Group Components By Function. Ensure that the components are segregated according to their functional block in the circuit.
- Keep Components Away From Heat Dissipating Area.
- Place Board-To-Wire Connectors Near The Edge.
- Get The Components Orientation Standardized.
- Make Space For Copper Traces.
How to create custom Eagle components-build electronic components?
To create a new symbol click “Library -> Symbol”. Then write a name for the symbol in the “New” text box and click OK. You will be asked if you want to create a new symbol. Click OK. We start of by drawing what the symbol should look like. Click on “Draw -> Wire”.
