With Step Functions, you can use Retry and Catch clauses to handle errors from Task states. There are a number of predefined system errors, and you can also handle custom errors that are thrown by your Lambda functions. You can do this by adding the same Catch clause to each of the Task states.

You should enable the error-handling routine before the first line at which an error could occur. When the error handler is active and an error occurs, execution passes to the line specified by the label argument. The On Error GoTo 0 statement disables error handling within a procedure.
