How do you solder Lqfp?
Put a small amount of solder on the tip of the solder iron. While holding down the aligned QFP with a pick or other pointed tool, add a small amount of solder flux to the corner leads in two opposite corners. While still holding the part down with the pick, solder down two opposite corner leads on the QFP.
What is a QFN IC?
QFN stands for quad flat no-lead package. It is a leadless package that comes in small size and offers moderate heat dissipation in PCBs. Like any other IC package, the function of a QFN package is to connect the silicon die of the IC to the circuit board.

What’s the best way to solder a TSSOP?
Two key details: 1) the solder must have a flux core (leaded solder flows a bit better than unleaded, but the choice is up to you), and 2) use the thinnest diameter you can find, at most 0.5 or 0.6 mm. The reason is that the amount of solder applied is crucial – the thinner the wire, the easier it is to control how much you apply.
Is there a SOIC version of a TSSOP chip?
There is in fact a version of the LPC812 in an SOIC-20 package, but it seems to have a few less features than the newer TSSOP-16 (or TSSOP-20) package used here. The technique is the same either way. There is a very good reason to have a go at it and master this skill: more and more new chips come out only in SOIC, TQFP, TSSOP, or smaller packages.
Can a heat gun be used to unsolder QFP?
If the chip is too expensive for that, a hot air soldering system or its less refined cousin, a heat gun, may be able to unsolder the QFP without excessive damage to the chip or board. In any event, this is your best opportunity to fix a problem with the chip’s positioning, so take your time and inspect it carefully, preferably under a magnifier.
