How do you store trading cards without sleeves?
Cardboard Storage Boxes (for collectibles) Cardboard storage boxes will come in handy as you build up a collection of cards. I’ve used them to neatly store my graded card cases, cards in top loaders, or even raw cards (with no sleeves or anything protecting them) that aren’t worth much.
How do you store loose cards?
Cardboard boxes are the cheapest way to store your cards. Your hobby shop should have them in a variety of sizes ranging from 100 all the way up to several thousand. Even the biggest custom cardboard boxes made specifically for sports cards are affordable when you factor in how many they can hold.
Do top loaders damage cards?
A plain top loader can also scratch the surface of the card, or cause corner damage. The penny sleeve gives just enough protection around the edges and corners to keep everything mint.
Is putting cards in a binder bad?
We recommend binders for non-holographics, or lesser rare cards that you are keeping in penny or card sleeves. Box – If you are going to use a box or metal case, make sure there isn’t too much room for the cards to move around. This is less of a problem if your card has already been graded by PSA or Beckett.
Are screw down cases bad for cards?
Although it used to be the preferred way of protecting valuable cards, screw down holders can cause significant damage to sports cards. The pressure applied from the tightening of the screws can flatten out the card over time.
Can dust get into top loaders?
The problem is that hairs and dust can enter the toploaders far too quickly, i.e. before I’ve even got the card in, and sometimes even get in the sleeves. Once or twice I’ve even had hairs find their way into a toploader.

Unless you’re okay with always holding it upright, an open-end binder sleeve will quickly become a nuisance. O-ring binders are prone to bending cards. O-ring binders often have more room for cards, but they can bend the cards closest to the front and back. Furthermore, they can cause the binder sleeves to crease.
