- Launch the macOS “App Store” from Applications, Launchpad or from the Dock:
- Once the App Store is running, you can see the apps that need updating by clicking “Updates” on the left-hand column:
- The page will then update with a listing of apps that need updating.
Why is the app store still using my old Apple ID?
Wrong Apple ID popping up in the App Store The most common reason for this problem is when somebody else borrows your iPhone or iPad and enters their own Apple ID to install an app. Next time you go into the App Store, the system will understandably expect that same account to be used again.
Do you have to use the same Apple ID to update apps?
Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase. To update you can’t use the new Apple ID, you have to use the same Apple ID that was used. Did you change computer iTunes > Store > Sign Out and sign in with the new password?
What happens if I Change my Apple ID?
If it’s asking for a different Apple ID to update an app or apps, then they have been purchased on the other Apple account. You can’t change the Apple ID that an app has been purchased with.
Where do I enter my Apple ID password?
Long press on the App Store icon and then tap Updates. If you have app updates, tap UPDATE next to individual apps. You can also tap Update All. Is there a way to back up my Apple ID to iCloud?
The App Store doesn’t readily let you know which apps are associated with your Apple ID and which apps are associated with someone else’s Apple ID. Luckily, you can mitigate this problem by simply backing up to iCloud and then restoring from that backup.
