How does validation loss and accuracy remain constant?
As far as I know, I have followed the architecture mentioned in the paper. However, the validation loss and accuracy just remain flat throughout. The accuracy seems to be fixed at ~57.5%. Any help on where I might be going wrong would be greatly appreciated.
Is the accuracy of Val increasing or decreasing?
Val Accuracy not increasing at all even through training loss is decreasing. I am training a model for image classification, my training accuracy is increasing and training loss is also decreasing but validation accuracy remains constant.
Is the accuracy of Python-Val decreasing or increasing?
I am training a model for image classification, my training accuracy is increasing and training loss is also decreasing but validation accuracy remains constant.
Which is the correct preprocessing function in VGG?
VGG expects a different preprocessing than rescale = 1/255.. You can import the proper preprocessing input function from the same module and give it to the ImageDataGenerator: Note that you should omit the rescale argument as this is handled by the preprocessing function. See also this answer.
What does validation accuracy mean for binary classification?
Your validation accuracy on a binary classification problem (I assume) is “fluctuating” around 50%, that means your model is giving completely random predictions (sometimes it guesses correctly few samples more, sometimes a few samples less). Generally, your model is not better than flipping a coin.
Why does train accuracy decrease in machine learning?
The train accuracy and loss monotonically increase and decrease respectively. But, my test accuracy starts to fluctuate wildly. I have tried changing the learning rate, reduce the number of layers. But, it doesn’t stop the fluctuations.
Why does the loss / accuracy fluctuate during the training?
For batch_size=2 the LSTM did not seem to learn properly (loss fluctuates around the same value and does not decrease). Upd. 4: To see if the problem is not just a bug in the code: I have made an artificial example (2 classes that are not difficult to classify: cos vs arccos). Loss and accuracy during the training for these examples:
What should my accuracy be after clearing up data?
After clearing up the data now my accuracy goes up to %69. Still not enough to be good, but at least I can now work my way up from here now that the data is clear.
What does it mean when accuracy does not change in keras?
If the accuracy is not changing, it means the optimizer has found a local minimum for the loss. This may be an undesirable minimum. One common local minimum is to always predict the class with the most number of data points. You should use weighting on the classes to avoid this minimum.
What’s the difference between validation and training accuracy?
Training accuracy increases from ~50% to ~85% in the first epoch, with 85% validation accuracy. Subsequent epochs increase the training accuracy consistently, however, validation accuracy stays in the 80-90% region.
Is it possible to get high accuracy in the first epoch?
Yes, it is entirely possible to get high accuracy on first epoch and then only modest improvements.
Can a G-MEAN be larger than accuracy?
While the g-mean is defined as (see, e.g., Espindola & Ebecken 2005) Where Precision = T P T P + F P, Recall = Sensitivity = T P T P + F N, and Specificity = T N T N + F P.
Can a person be accurate but not precise?
You can be very precise but inaccurate, as described above. You can also be accurate but imprecise. For example, if on average, your measurements for a given substance are close to the known value, but the measurements are far from each other, then you have accuracy without precision.
What’s the difference between accuracy and imprecise?
Precision is independent of accuracy. You can be very precise but inaccurate, as described above. You can also be accurate but imprecise. For example, if on average, your measurements for a given substance are close to the known value, but the measurements are far from each other, then you have accuracy without precision.
Which is the best example of precision and accuracy?
Precision refers to the closeness of two or more measurements to each other. Using the example above, if you weigh a given substance five times, and get 3.2 kg each time, then your measurement is very precise. Precision is independent of accuracy.
