How is SD line calculated?
The SD line goes through the point of averages, and has slope equal to SDY/SDX if the correlation coefficient r is greater than or equal to zero. The SD line has slope −SDY/SDX if r is negative.
What does it mean if a point is above the regression line?
In other words, it measures the vertical distance between the actual data point and the predicted point on the line. If the observed data point lies above the line, the residual is positive, and the line underestimates the actual data value for y.
Is regression line steeper than SD line?
