How is the time estimate calculated in Jira?
Estimation will be based on the Jira ‘Original Time Estimate’ field (see Logging time on issues for more information). By default, this is specified in minutes, but you can use hours, days, or weeks, depending on your Jira system configuration. See Configuring time tracking (Jira admin documentation).
What happens when you set working hours and days in Jira?
By setting your timezone, you ensure that the relevant dates on your plan, like sprint start and end dates, are in sync with such dates in Jira. As such, when you configure working hours and days, you’re also able to make a more realistic plan and schedule for your team’s work.

What are the permissions for time tracking in Jira?
If you’d like to add users, click the ‘Add’ button in the ‘Operations’ column. There are five sets of permissions that relate to time tracking. These are: Work on issues: The user is able to log work on an issue (for example, creating a worklog).
How does time tracking work in Jira Cloud?

How to calculate story points in Jira software cloud?
Go to your board, then select more ( ) > Board settings. In the Estimation Statistic field, choose one of the following options: Estimation will be based on the number of story points per issue. This is the most commonly used option. By default, the ‘Story Points’ field is only available to issues of type ‘story’ or ‘epic’ (not ‘bugs’ etc).
How is velocity calculated in Jira sprint report?
Velocity is shown in the Velocity Chart and on the Sprint Report, in the Estimate Statistic column header of the Completed Issues table (for example, “Story Points (12) ” means that 12 story points were completed in that sprint). Values for each issue are recorded at the time when the issue moves into the sprint.
