How long does a domain stay in pending delete?

A domain name is purged from the registry database a specified number of calendar days after it is placed in PENDING DELETE status. The current length of this Pending Delete Period is five calendar days.
What does it mean when a domain is in redemption period?
The Redemption Period occurs approximately 30 days after a domain has reached its expiration date. For 30 days after the expiration date the domain will be available for renewal during a grace period. After the 30 day grace period, the domain will enter a hold period known as the Redemption Period for another 30 days.
What does Pendingdelete mean?
If a domain expires and is neither renewed nor restored during Redemption Grace Period, then it enters a stage called Pending Delete. When the Pending Delete period ends and the domain is released, it will be available across all registrars and can be picked up by Backorder systems or registered.

REDEMPTION PERIOD: The registry sets this status when a registrar requests that the domain name be deleted from the registry and the domain has been registered for more than 5 days (if the delete request is received within 5 days of initial domain registration it will instead be deleted immediately). The domain will not be included in the zone.
