A good bug report should contain only one bug and be clear and concise yet informationally dense. It should contain environment details and user steps that allow the developer to reproduce the bug on his side. Without being able to reproduce the bug, developers are essentially stumbling in the dark.
What should be in a bug ticket?
A good bug report should include the following information:
- Summary. The goal of summary is to make the report searchable and uniquely identifiable.
- Overview/Description.
- Steps to Reproduce.
- Test Results.
- Reduced Test Case.
- Environment Setup and Configuration.
- Any additional Information.
How do you write an issue summary?
The summary should use short, clear sentences. It should use markup for better readability (lists, code snippets, subheaders, etc.). It should Identify the key points rather than quoting whole paragraphs. It can include links to particular comments if necessary, but should not only link those comments.
What is the purpose of an Issue report?
An Issue Report is a description of one or more issues. It also contains an impact assessment of the issue(s). The report is usually created (first information is added) when the issue is first registered in the Issue Register.

The Issue summary field on an issue (in the Issue summary and metadata section of the issue form) is a concise overview of a full issue report. Issue summaries are especially useful if the issue has more than a few comments and/or an average developer cannot understand the subject matter after a few minutes of study.

What do you need to know about tracking bugs?
If your team relies on the product backlog to order work, tracking bugs as requirements supports this activity. Tools your team wants to use such as the Planning pane, velocity chart, forecast, rollup, and delivery plans. Tracking bugs as tasks precludes use of several of these tools.
