How should injectors spray?
Fuel injectors are located in the intake manifold and spray fuel through a tiny nozzle. The fuel injector uses a special nozzle to spray the fuel as mist, instead of a strong jet stream. Just think of the nozzle on the hose you use in your yard. You can change how the water flows out of your nozzle.
Does the four fuel injector spray at the same time?
All injectors receive the injection signal from the control unit at the same time. Therefore, injection is made independently of the engine stroke cycle (intake, combustion, and exhaust).
How do you determine what size fuel injector to use?
Fuel Injectors are sized by their flow rate. Flow rate is a measurement of how much fuel can be delivered over time. It is listed in pounds per hour (lbs./hr.) or cubic centimeters per minute (cc/min.). The right size injector can supply enough fuel under full load conditions at an 80% duty cycle.
Do injectors have a firing order?
The injectors order matches to either cylinder order or firing order, depending on the type of engine and/or type of PCM. As far as we know, on your engine it matches to cylinder order and not firing order.
Which injection system fires all the injectors at the same time?
In multi-point injection may be either sequential or simultaneous. A simultaneous system fires all 4 injectors at the same time with each cylinder receiving 2 injection pulses per cycle (720° crankshaft rotation).
How much HP can 1000cc injectors handle?
The 1000cc Injectors can support 650+whp.
Where are the spray patterns on the injector?
It is located where the carburetor used to be and the fuel doesn’t hit the hot intake valve that would atomize the fuel like the multi port injector systems. It has to spray the fuel in a wider pattern to help mix it with the air better. In conclusion: There are quite a few different types of spray patterns.
Why do some injectors have more holes than others?
Others have a bent spray and do not spray straight down. Due to the more demanding emission requirements thru the years, the injectors makers started putting more smaller holes to help atomize the fuel especially when the engine is first started. This one has four holes.
What makes the spray diverge on an injector?
The pintle is tapered with a mushroom shaped tip causing the spray to diverge as it leaves the injector tip. Note: the pintle cap was removed for this picture. This type of injector has a plate below the pintle that has a single hole in it that provides a very narrow spray.
