How to change Blender to weight Paint mode?
– While in Weight Paint Mode, you can select bones with RIGHTCLICK. Blender 2.8- While in Object Mode, select the Armature Objectfirst and the Mesh Objectlast. – Then switch to Weight Paint Mode.
Why is weight painting not working in 2.7x?
The 2.7x way of doing it doesn’t work, because you can’t leave the pose mode on while switching to the model that you want to weight paint. You are not stupid. Selecting a bone in pose mode to paint corresponding weight on mesh is not working, anymore.
Can You weight paint in wireframe mode 2.8?
On top of THAT, weight-painting in wireframe mode is impossible in 2.8. In 2.8, they’ve got that lattice-like see-through where you can’t view through OTHER (not currently selected) objects while weight-painting, and the patchwork “seethrough” effect is just jarring and uncomfortable visually.

However, I found another method that may help. If you have your deformation bones layer visible you can ‘Shift-Right Click’ any of the deformation bones to bring up the “Weight Paint Sample Group” dialogue box which lists the bones in that area you can paint.

I however has maybe this same problem now in my 9 days old build of 2.8 that the weight paint isn’t showing. It still works to weight paint, but no matter wich mode or overlay settings all i see is blue.

Can you select a bone in weight paint?
In weight paint I can select a bone and it will show me the weight which is associated, have but I can’t move it and rotate it, the armature is just orange-outlined. How can i fix this? Keep in mined that I already tried opening and closing Blender An orange outline indicates object mode selection for the armature.
