On the Settings menu, click Discussion Board Settings. On the Customize Discussion Board Name Discussion page, in the Views section, click the name of the view that you want to make the default view. The default behavior is Subject and Flat view. If I open Threaded View and mark it as default, then that changes as Flat / Threaded. How do I change it to Subject / Threaded combination? I am using SharePoint 2013 and do not have access to SharePoint designer. Thanks in advance!

Is there a threaded view in SharePoint Online?
The threaded view has changed in SharePoint Online due to our Modern Document Library updates. The “Flat” view is the current default view for a Discussion board list as you saw. It does NOT have the threaded behavior but the old threaded view does still exist.
