How to export geometry and UV map from UV view?

The UV can be exported (to other mesh), as the texture maps. Texture maps are REFERENCED and identified in the surfaces tab, and each map has its own file reference, Shaders are procedural and not exportable as far as I understand. Perhaps you are referring to repainting UV or merging UV maps into a single UV layer?
Can you have more than 8 UV maps?
Could do that, but not a good plan. You can have as many materials as you like, but only 8 UV maps. As mentioned, an UV map is a representation of the mesh. When you use multiple materials that get assigned to mesh faces, the same faces are found on an UV map, but the material already limits what is shown.
How to export model data to a ply file?
If you want to export model data to a PLY data format, do the following: Select the Filemenu, Exportcommand, and the Stanford(.ply)sub-command. Enter an appropriate file name. Don’t include any spaces in your name and use all lower cases letters. The filename will be used to name the model. The contents of a PLY file does not contain a model name.
