To move individual bones, you have to go into Pose Mode. Select the Armature in Object Mode and switch to Pose Mode by pressing Ctrl + Tab or selecting the mode in the mode selection menu of the 3D Viewer. Try moving a bone around by pressing RMB to select it, and then hitting G or R to move it.

Can t move bones in Pose Mode blender?

The most likely is that you have a constraint that is limiting the way your bones can move. One way this normally happens is if you’re setting up an IK chain, then the bone at the end is the only one that will move. The bones in the middle have all been told to maintain the IK solution, which means you can’t move them.

How does armature-child object move and rotate upon parenting?

Thanks for all the help you are providing and all the work done on blender. Let the bone position it, then tweak. In as much as you can position then parent, I am suggesting the opposite. The nature of parenting is to let the child inherit the transform of the parent.

When does everything move, not just the selected vertex?

Closed 5 years ago. I go into edit mode for an object, select vertex mode, select one of the squares, then pull the arrow it moves just the square like it is suppose to. If I resize it then go into edit mode it no longer does this. When I select vertex select a square, then go to move that square everything moves now, not just the vertex.

When do you need proportional editing in Blender?

Since proportional editing affects the nearby geometry, it is very useful when you need to smoothly deform the surface of a dense mesh. This can be (accidentally) turned on by pressing O. It can be turned off the same way. Not the answer you’re looking for?
