How to flatten the z axis in Autodesk?
04-25-2017 05:39 AM Select all the objects in your file. Start PROPERTIES command, sort by entity type, and change every Z setting to 0 (that’s a zero). Should take about 5-minutes at most. If you have 3D blocks or 3D objects, the above tip will simply move their basepoint to z=0.
Is there a way to get rid of the z axis?
The z axis issue seems to pop up continuously, however we do not ever draw 3d with cad. (i know sometimes it could come from an inserted block or what not but this is happening on new drawings files with nothing in them. How do we disable the z permanently??
How to lock the z axis to 0?
The ELEVATION variable (default 0) controls the default Z value of any point when the Z isn’t explicitly given. It’s pretty easy for a drawing to get infected with non-default Z values. Once this happens, when you start drawing via osnap and copying/mirroring/offsetting/editing things, before you know it the bogus Z’s are all over the place.

Why are the sides of a cube always equal?
Let me explain why. If every side would be equal, you’d have to have sides which would at least have to be smaller than the hypotenuse or square’s diagonal. If the first cut would be smaller, you’d have to reach an asymmetrical point to get a pentagon which again would leave you with two distinct and unequal side lengths.
