How to geocode a table of addresses in ArcMap?
Add the table of addresses you want to geocode to ArcMap. Click the Geocode Addresses button on the Geocoding toolbar. Right-click the address table in the Table Of Contents and click Geocode Addresses. In the File menu, click Add Data > Geocoding > Geocode Addresses. The Choose an Address Locator to use dialog box opens.

What happens when a table of addresses is geocoded?
After a table of addresses is geocoded, the output feature class contains a copy of the address fields from the address table. One purpose of carrying over the address fields is for rematching. The names of this set of address fields are prefixed with ARC_. When an address is modified during rematching, the new address is saved in these fields.
