How to get the same CRS for different layers in QGIS?

How to get the same CRS for different layers in QGIS?

EDIT: Just go it to work by deleting the point layer, changing the coordinates in the CSV file to SWEREF99 TM, and importing the layer anew with the same plugin. But I’m still wondering if it’s not possible to change the CRS after importing?

How to add a WFS layer in QGIS?

QGIS will add the layer anyway, with zero objects. In the properties menu for this layer I copied the getFeature address line, added the above mentioned &BBOX=…. extension, and went back to the Add WFS Layer menu.

How is output CRS defined in WFS query?

You can see the definition of output CRS as parameter of wfs:Query and the definition of the reference geometry inside the BBOX filter. Notice that when srsName is given in a short format EPSG:4326 GeoServer awaits coordinates in longitude-latitude order.

How to create a bounding box in WFS?

Open Web Service/Open WFS… Now you’re in Open WFS Table window. Choose a table. Now you’re in Row Picker window. Choose your column that represent geometry objects (SP_GEOMETRY for example). After that you will get a list of operators and choose ogc:BBOX.

Why is QGIS reprojecting on the fly to project CRS?

They both contain the same points, but in different CRSs (EPSG:23030 and EPSG:4326). They appear in the same place because QGIS is reprojecting on the fly to the project CRS (EPSG:4326), but they are not actually the same layer.

What do you need to know about projections in QGIS?

Working with Projections ¶ A Coordinate Reference System, or CRS, is a method of associating numerical coordinates with a position on the surface of the Earth. QGIS has support for approximately 7,000 standard CRSs, each with different use cases, pros and cons!

How does QGIS work with Ogr and GDAL?

For data supported by OGR or GDAL, QGIS relies on the presence of a recognized means of specifying the CRS. For instance, for the Shapefile format this is a file containing an ESRI Well-Known Text ( WKT) representation of the layer’s CRS.

How to work with vector data in QGIS?

Interacting with features in an attribute table 14.4.4. Using action on features 14.4.5. Editing attribute values 14.4.6. Creating one or many to many relations 14.5. Editing

Why is the Union function not working in QGIS?

It seems that the bug may be more related to running multiple iterations of the union function in QGIS without addressing topological errors that are not immediately apparent (i.e., no errors get reported).

Is there a union function for multiple layers comparable?

I need a union function for a lot of polygon layers (protected areas of all kind, nature, water etc.) comparable to the union function in ArcGIS. I have only the desktop version from ArcGIS and so it will only work on two layers. I am looking for the same function in QGIS or another opensource GIS (openjump, gvsig….).

How does QGIS allow you to reproject data on the fly?

QGIS allows you to reproject data “on the fly”. What this means is that even if the data itself is in another CRS, QGIS can project it as if it were in a CRS of your choice. To enable “on the fly” projection, click on the CRS Status button in the Status Bar along the bottom of the QGIS window:

Why are the layers set to different CRS?

I assumed that was because the layers were set to different CRS, but after right-clicking each layer and changing the CRS to WGS 84, nothing changes. What am I doing wrong here?

Why does QGIS not know where Cape Town is?

You can see why this is a problem. QGIS doesn’t know where Cape Town is supposed to be – that’s what the data should be telling it. If the data tells QGIS that Cape Town is 34 meters away from the equator and that South Africa is only about 12 meters from north to south, then that is what QGIS will draw.

How to know which layers are ” right ” or ” wrong “?

To know which layers are “right”, or “wrong”, change the project CRS to EPSG:3857, and add a Satellite or Openstreetmap layer. There is a difference between reproject a layer and set a CRS to a layer. Maybe you got stuck with that.

Why do different CSV files have different CRS?

The CSV file that I’m importing contains the following data: The dot appears on the screen but very far away from the country map. I assumed that was because the layers were set to different CRS, but after right-clicking each layer and changing the CRS to WGS 84, nothing changes. What am I doing wrong here?
