Assumed stix was not installed with TeX Live when I downloaded it last year. I use TeX Live 2012 on Windows (Vista) with pdfLaTeX. So now my first try at installing a font.
Are there any fonts that support Stix math?
The math support covers nearly every mathematical symbol in STIX fonts, around 2400 symbols in 11 regular fonts, in addition to around 1950 symbols in 10 bold fonts. There are also three fonts containing extra miscellaneous symbols, stix-extra1, stix-extra2 and stix-extra3, provided as TFM and PFB files without support from the macro package.
How to install manual fonts in TeX LaTeX?
For Open-/TrueType font files ( *.otf/*.ttf, the directory names are misleading here, as the file extension does not say anything about OpenType abilities) you should additionally run fc-cache (MiKTeX and TeX Live Windows) or sudo fc-cache (TeX Live Linux and MacOSX) on the command prompt, but then you are ready as well.
Why is there no stix.sty on my computer?
Still same error, no stix.sty. I think my install failed. Either the “stix” folder is in the wrong place/format (but I’m the only user+admin on this pc) or updmap –enable Map=stix.map went wrong. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
