How to make the missing layers disappear in Cura?

How to make the missing layers disappear in Cura?

I tryed changing the scale of the object in Cura : the missing layers “move” on the printed object, but no way to make them disappear. One more try I did is to rotate the object 90 degrees : in this case the layers are apparently not missing in the print although they’re missing in Cura’s layers view.

How does Cura print bottom and top layers?

I’m using Cura to slice my prints. I’ve noticed that when printing the bottom layer (and also the top layer, if it’s flat), it first prints three walls, then fills in the middle by moving back and forth in straight lines.

Is there a top surface skin pattern in Cura?

There is also a setting under “Experimental” called “Top Surface Skin Pattern” that I think does the same for just the top layer. In addition to “Concentric” there is also a “Zig Zag” option that’s quite similar to the default “Lines” mode.

How to make a smooth top in Cura?

The first time with extrusion and the second time with just a little bit of extrusion (default is 10%) at 90 degrees to the first one. This effectively “irons out” the zig-zag pattern giving you a nice smooth top to your parts. I was very impressed at how well this works (YMMV of course 🙂 ).

Are there any missing features in Cura v2.x?

I don’t think this feature was implemented at all with Cura v2.x. As the developers say on the v2.1 release, “Cura has been completely reengineered”.

How does Cura work in a 3D printer?

The way cura works is it intersects a plane with all the millions of triangles in the STL. The triangles are in no particular order so the lines are also in no order.

Can a cura printer Print thinner than a nozzle?

The actual part you are printing. Cura can not print walls thinner than the nozzle and sometimes maybe not even walls under 1mm thick. It *REALLY REALLY* would be helpful for you to post a photo of the part in normal view and layer view. Here is how to post pictures: I’ve come across this at least twice this week.

Why does Cura not see the gap in the model?

The gap doesn’t get support added, and they don’t get top/bottom surfaces added (it exposes the infill), so Cura doesn’t “see” it as a gap in the model.
