Why does Office 365 migration take so long?
As mentioned by the others here, there are too many factors that play into the speed of a migration. The bandwidth is definitely a big one, especially going to Office 365 since we have no control over the server itself. Then you have the amount of properties and of course the number of versions in the version history.
Select the document library where your files are located. The dropdown contains all your possible choices. Enter the URL of the SharePoint site where you want your files migrated. Select the document library to where your files will be copied. Select Add. This task is added to the list.
We could just migrate the obsolete sites (one-on-one) to SharePoint Online and use a specific term in the URL (for instance) to show that this site was an archived site. We could also use site-policies to store the site for seven years and then delete it permanently. In the end, this option was discarded.
Do you need to be site admin to migrate to SharePoint?
