How to receive unknown length data using UART in an array?

How to receive an unknown length data using UART in an array and store it & receive next set of data, without deleting what’s in the first register? I have to receive an unknown length of data from a UART Interrupt serial communication. I have initialized an array, to store the data.

Why is there an error in pcint1 _ Vect ( )?

__vector_4 () is just another name for PCINT1_vect (). The error message simply means that you have defined that function twice. One definition is explicit in the code you are showing to us. I cannot see the other definition: obviously you are not showing all of your code.

How can I merge my PCInt library with avrdude?

Or you could modify the library and try to merge it’s PCINT1_vect () with yours. BTW, the error message does not come from avrdude, it comes from the linker. You should use the ISR (PCINT0_vect) instead of the ISR (PCINT1_vect).

Why does PCInt say redefinition of’void’?

The error message simply means that you have defined that function twice. One definition is explicit in the code you are showing to us. I cannot see the other definition: obviously you are not showing all of your code. Most likely that other definition lies inside some library you are using in your program.

How is the data sent via the UART interface?

Now let’s talk about how the data is sent via the UART interface. First, and it seems to be obvious, the UART is a serial protocol, which means that the data is sent bit by bit via the single line (unlike parallel protocols where the data is sent via several lines simultaneously).

How many wires do you need for UART?

UART communication. As you can see, only three wires are required – two for the signals, and one for connecting the devices’ ground. Please note that the signal lines are crossed, so the Tx of one device is connected with the Rx of another one and vice versa.
