How to Restore a Joomla Site Using Akeeba Backup
- Extract the kickstart.
- Connect to your site using FTP.
- Upload kickstart.
- Close the Things you should know about Akeeba Kickstart page.
- Select the archive file you would like to restore and click on Start.
- Click on Run the Installer.
- Click Next to go to DB restore page.
How to restore Akeeba?
If you want to restore your site to a previous version go to manage backups and then select the backup you wish to restore and click on restore. Select the Files extraction method this is usually the default “write directly to file” Click to start the restoration.
When do I need to restore my Akeeba backup?
As explained above, an Akeeba Backup archive contains your entire site and the restoration script required to restore it. You do not need to have a functional site to restore a backup. The whole point of Akeeba Backup is restoring a backup when the site is no longer functional.
