How to scale child object independent of parent?

How to scale child object independent of parent?

It seems no matter what I do, the scale of the child always reflects the scale of the parent (even though if I look at the “x” scale of the child object, it always stays the same)……but that’s what parenting is supposed to do I guess. So here are some of the variations of scripting I’ve tried.

Which is child class inherits from parent class?

In some concerns, Sub Class is known as child class, and the superclass is known as parent class. So, till now, it is obvious that the subclass, i.e. child class, inherits properties from the superclass, i.e. parent class.

When do you use inheritance in a program?

If a team is working on a big program or piece of code, then inheritance acts like a blessing. We need not write code repeatedly; if there is a hierarchy in classes or classes that have a dependency on one another, we can use inherit code from base class to child class. This will prevent from the writing of the same code repeatedly.

What are the different types of inheritance in object oriented?

Types of Inheritance: 1 Single Inheritance: One derived class inherits from one base class. 2 Multiple Inheritance: One derived class inherits from many base classes. 3 Multilevel Inheritance: One derived class inherits from other derived classes. 4 Hierarchal Inheritance: More than one derived classes inherit from one base class.

How to scale child like it was part of parent?

I can anchor the child to stretch the full width and height of parent, i then offset 50 pixel bottom and left, 250 pixels top and right. It now looks the same. If I increase the parents width the red square will also increase in width, but the offset is not increasing, as they are fixed values, breaking the composition.

How can I make my child object stay at the same size?

I want my child object to stay at the same scale/length at all times, while the parent object is able to change length. I’ve tried attaching scripts to my parent object, and trying to manually change the localScale.x of the child object every update. That doesn’t seem to work.
