XML file does not display if it is a local file and the XSLT file is on a server. If I have an local XML file with a local XSLT file the XML file displays as expected. If both files are on my server again the XML file displays correctly.

The file association is correct and is supposed to open with Excel but its opening in IE11. In your first post, you said they were “XML files”, instead of web links. If XML data is on a web page, file association should be associated to a web browser, instead of Excel.
