Is GDScript pass by reference?
In GDScript, only base types (int, float, string and the vector types) are passed by value to functions (value is copied). Everything else (instances, arrays, dictionaries, etc) is passed as reference.
Does Godot support C#?
As of alpha2, Godot is using Mono 5.2 and C# 7.0 is supported.
What is GDScript similar to?
GDScript is it’s own langauge, though it is very similar to Python. I found that most everything in Python translates to GDScript, with a few minor adjustments.
Is GDScript object-oriented?
Object-oriented design and composition Godot embraces object-oriented design at its core with its flexible scene system and Node hierarchy. It tries to stay away from strict programming patterns to offer an intuitive way to structure your game.
What is GDScript based on?
Godot has its own built-in scripting language, GDScript, a high-level, dynamically typed programming language which is syntactically similar to Python. Unlike Python, GDScript is optimized for Godot’s scene-based architecture and can specify strict typing of variables.
What is GDScript pass?
if im not mistaken pass simply means you ignore and sort of place a “block” of code that does nothing… you can use pass when writing a script with lots and lots of ifs and simply not wanting to implement all the ifs yet and you only write the ifs themselves down.

Is C# better than GDScript?
Out of all the languages used in game development Gdscript is the easiest one and C# is the one with the most features. C# is built for library development, that’s where it’s best at. That means that it’s easier than in most languages to make highly complex code look simple from the outside.
Is GDScript better than Python?
The main difference between the two is that while Python is a general purpose language which can be used for just about any type of project, GDScript is a “domain specific” language for use in a particular development environment (Godot).
What are classes in Godot?
For example, the Nodes of a scene in Godot are instances of classes. We create a new scene by extending an existing class such as Node2D. That’s why the first line of code says what class is being extended. The data of a class are stored in variables that we call properties.
How can I reference C # objects in GDScript?
I figured out how this works both ways after a couple of days. It is not immediately obvious and the GDScript interpreter will yell at you, but as long as your C# objects are included in the .csproj file and the class itself extends Object, you can call any method in the C# script.
What do you need to know about GDScript?
GDScript is a high-level, dynamically typed programming language used to create content. It uses a syntax similar to Python (blocks are indent-based and many keywords are similar). Its goal is to be optimized for and…

When to use an inner class in GDScript?
Used where a statement is required syntactically but execution of code is undesired, e.g. in empty functions. Returns a value from a function. Defines an inner class. Defines a class name and optional icon for your script. Defines what class to extend with the current class.
