Is LEGO Boost compatible with Powered Up?
As of August 2018, this is not possible. However, TLG has stated that they plan to add more compatibility to the Powered Up system, and this will likely be available as a firmware update in the future: Q.

This process is completely automatic: just press the green button on your Move Hub when you’re prompted to and the app will do the rest. The light on your LEGO BOOST Move Hub should flash white for about 10-20 seconds while connecting to the LEGO BOOST app and remain a solid blue once connected.

If you wish to reset the connections, you can make them forget about other devices. Make sure your device is turned off, then press and hold the green button until the light turns purple. Then let the device power off. You can tell it’s off when the lights stop flashing.

With the “Smart Move Hub 2 I/O” used in the Boost product you can control up to 4 motors – the 2 internal and 2 external. With the “Smart Hub 2 I/O” you can control 2 external motors. Does that mean a Technic set with more than two features will need multiple hubs?
Is the new hub the same as the new motors?
The new hub and the motors also belong to the Powered Up family, so they share the same port and protocol like the Powered Up, the Boost and the Spike Prime sets. The app that will be the platform to control all these in the future is the Powered Up app.
How many motors can you control with a Smart Hub?
With a mobile smart device, the current limit is up to ten hubs, but this is device-dependent. As far as how many motors you can control with a single hub, with the Smart Move Hub 2 I/O used in the LEGO BOOST set, you can control up to four motors (two internal and two external), and with the Smart Hub 2 I/O, you can control two external motors.
Is the buwizz app compatible with powered up?
It is compatible with Powered Up, Boost, SBrick, BuWizz, WeDo 2.0 and EV3. The BuWizz app can connect to the Technic (AA) hub. It offers classic motor speed control, does not have yet the ability to control the L and XL motors as a return to center servo.
