Is there way to change order of UV maps in Blender?

Is there way to change order of UV maps in Blender?

In the UV Maps list there are no up/down arrows like there is in the Vertex Groups list to change the order of elements in the list. Is there a way to assign the order of UV Maps in Blender?

Can you copy a UV map from one mesh to another?

You can copy a UV map from one mesh to another Mesh provided both meshes have the same geometry/vertex order. This is useful for example when you want to recreate a UV map from an earlier version of your model with intact UVs. Select the target mesh (to which you want to copy the UV map).

What’s the best way to do UV mapping?

You can of course work around this by using triplanar mapping when working in apps such as Substance Designer, for example, but the best thing is to get it right straight out of the gate. As well as no distortion, a good UV map also has borders and padding.

What are the coordinates of a UV map?

Based on a 0 to 1 grid, with 0.5 as the middle coordinates, a UV map consists of your 3D model’s XYZ coordinates flattened into 2D UVW space – or tile, as it’s called. Depending on your modeller and mapper, 3D’s horizontal X-axis equals U in 2D space, vertical Y equals V, and the depth coordinate Z equals W.

How to add a decal to a UV map?

In order to do that open Properties Editor > Data tab > UV maps rollout and press “+” button. Select the face you want the decal on and press U > Unwrap. Add another image texture in the second texture slot, set the UV map to decal and the set the Extension to Clip. Both image textures are on the same material.

How are textures mapped with multiple UV maps?

Both image textures are on the same material. The material is not specific to any face, it is on the entire model. The UV maps control where the textures go. Here is the result, default Color grid as the texture and the blender logo as the decal.
