What are attention gates?
We propose a novel attention gate (AG) model for medical imaging that automatically learns to focus on target structures of varying shapes and sizes. Models trained with AGs implicitly learn to suppress irrelevant regions in an input image while highlighting salient features useful for a specific task.
What is attention map?
attention map: a scalar matrix representing the relative importance of layer activations at different 2D spatial locations with respect to the target task. i.e., an attention map is a grid of numbers that indicates what 2D locations are important for a task.
Where do you find the pancreas?

UNet is a convolutional neural network architecture that expanded with few changes in the CNN architecture. It was invented to deal with biomedical images where the target is not only to classify whether there is an infection or not but also to identify the area of infection.
What is attention mechanism?
The attention mechanism emerged as an improvement over the encoder decoder-based neural machine translation system in natural language processing (NLP). The encoder LSTM is used to process the entire input sentence and encode it into a context vector, which is the last hidden state of the LSTM/RNN.

Attention network may refer to: Dorsal attention network, a network of brain regions involved in control of attention. Ventral attention network, a network of brain regions involved in detection of stimuli. Artificial neural networks used for attention (machine learning)
