Can’t separate dimensions in after effects?
To separate them, we need to right-click on the position property and then click on Separate Dimensions. When we uncheck the Separate Dimension option, it will automatically go back to what we had in the beginning.
What are the different types of layer?
The presentation layer takes any data transmitted by the application layer and prepares it for transmission over the session layer.

What is a solid layer?
As you might expect, a solid layer is a layer in the size and color of your choice. You create a solid layer when you need an opaque background for a nested composition. You can also use solids with masks to create graphic elements (Figure 4.28).
How do you flip in AE?
To flip a layer is to multiply the horizontal or vertical component of its Scale property value by -1. A layer flips around its anchor point. To flip selected layers, choose Layer > Transform > Flip Horizontal or Layer > Transform > Flip Vertical.
How do you separate dimensions?

- Step 1: Select Your Layer. Select the layer you in which you wish to separate the positional dimensions.

To increase or decrease Scale for a selected layer by 1%, hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) as you press + or – on the numeric keypad. To increase or decrease Scale for selected layers by 10%, hold down Alt+Shift (Windows) or Option+Shift (Mac OS) as you press + or – on the numeric keypad.
How do you adjust layer properties in after effect?
Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) the underlined value and choose Edit Value. Drag the slider left or right. Click a point inside the angle control or drag the angle control line. After you click inside the angle control, you can drag outside it for more precision.
How to animate a shape inside its own layer?
Twirl down the Merge Paths effect and change the dropdown within to “Intersect”. Delete the stroke layer that was added and change the fill color to our desired color. Voila! Now you can animate the shape inside its own layer and it will be perfectly masked inside of your main shape at all times.
How do you merge shapes in after effects?
Twirl it open, pick whip the path just as before, and you can get rid of the Gradient as well. Now highlight the Secondary Shape and the Mask Shape and press “Command + G” to group these shapes together. With this new group highlighted, navigate to the “Add” dropdown on the right and select “Merge Paths”.
