How can you tell if a Lego brick is a part?
Look for a 4 or 5 digit part ID on the element. These are usually printed on the inside. A magnifying glass and good lighting can be helpful. Many bricks will also have other numbers printed on them, but only the 4 or 5 digit numbers are useful for identifying parts.
What are the different categories of Lego bricks?
Consider the language barrier: if you read Lego’s English Pick-A-Brick names, you realize it’s translated (from Danish). A major category is “Brick, Bow” also known as an Arch. Dome. Consider 30367, LEGO’s “Final Brick” filed under Bricks, Special.
Where can I find the Lego part ID?
If you are able to find a part number, search for it on Rebrickable or Bricklink. Rebrickable tends to work well, as it allows you to search by the official Lego part ID printed on the brick, and this number can be different from the Bricklink ID for historical reasons. Check a set inventory
What was the first color of Lego bricks?
The first Lego bricks were available in the colors of red, white, yellow, blue, and black. Green Lego bricks were not included in the earliest building kits. Roof bricks were added in 1958, so kits earlier than this year will not feature roof building components.
