What are the specifications for minimum load current?
Figure A. LM1117 minimum load current specifications. Most newer devices are designed to operate with no load, and exceptions to this rule are very limited. The same design techniques that allow LDOs to be stable with any output capacitor, especially low ESR caps, are used to guarantee stability at no load.
Why does a relay have a minimum applicable load?
The relay may not work as expected below the minimum load. If the current you’re switching is below 10uA, you may find that the relay still conducts a significant current even in open state, due to internal capacitance.
Are there any parameters that do not include a zero load?

The reference point for the figures given for travels and forces is a point F located on the top of the plunger in the case of a plain microswitch, or, generally, 3 mm in from the end of a flat lever. The reference point for the positions is one of the fixing holes, unless otherwise indicated.

Why do power poles need a minimum load?
Some older power devices require a minimum load to guarantee stability, as one of the poles that must be compensated is affected by the effective load resistance, as discussed in “ Low-Dropout Regulators (Ask the Applications Engineer—37 ).” For example, Figure A shows that the LM1117 requires a 1.7-mA minimum load current (up to 5 mA).
