What does recovered messages mean on Mac?
The recovered message may be a previously sent message, or even could be a spam message that has not been properly dealt with; regardless, the repeated message may be marked as spam by Mail. In the Library, go to the /Mail folder, and if a subdirectory called “V2” exists, then open this.

I simply right-click and delete it, and Mail creates it anew the next time it needs it. If your folder is empty, it should be safe to delete it.
