What happened to iTunes U?
The iTunes U app will be shut down at the end of 2021, Apple announced this week. The app, founded in 2007, is credited with playing a central role in opening up higher education to the public. Access to the app and all its content will continue until the end of 2021.
How do I use iTunes U?
Access iTunes on iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad
- Go to the App Store and search for iTunes U.
- On the iTunes U app screen, tap the cloud icon to install the app on your device.
- Find the iTunes U app.
- In the iTunes U app, use options at the bottom of the screen (Charts, Browse, Search) to locate courses and collections.
How do educators use iTunes U iTunes U?
Teachers can use iTunes U to manage their lessons, teaching resources and class/student assignments via the “Create a course” option. After a course has been created the teacher can add lesson plans, posts, assignments and materials to the course.

Is iTunes and iTunes Store the same?
