A SharePoint farm is a collection of servers that work in concert to provide a set of basic SharePoint services to support a single site. A SharePoint farm can be hosted in a cloud, in a company’s private data center or across multiple data centers in different locations.
Organizations use Microsoft SharePoint to create websites. You can use it as a secure place to store, organize, share, and access information from any device. All you need is a web browser, such as Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox.

SharePoint 2019 is the first version of SharePoint to support modern SharePoint sites. There are two types of modern sites: team sites and communication sites. Team sites are typically used for collaboration, while communication sites are used to distribute information to larger groups of users.
A SharePoint farm member running the Web Server role is responsible for rendering SharePoint content, including web parts, page layout, and all other information displayed to the user. A SharePoint Web Server role runs on either Windows Server 2008 R2 IIS 7.0 or, preferably, Windows Server 2012 IIS.
To put everything in simple terms, SharePoint consists of 3 major building blocks: Sites – used to organize various types of content (web parts) Pages – used to display content (web parts) on a site. Web Part – used to store particular content/information (i.e. documents, events, contacts).

What is SharePoint Web Front End server (WFE) A server which handles web page requests from users is called Web Front End (WFE). Thus, each time when user opens a SharePoint page in a browser, it is processed by WFE server. SharePoint farm may have multiple such servers. If there are multiple WFE servers, Network Load Balancer is distributing requests between them.
