What is a GY 521 module?
Info. This module features the MPU-6050 3-axis gyroscope and accelerometer. Also included on the board are pull-up resistors on the SDA and SCL lines as well as a 3.3V voltage regulator. Product Contents: 1 piece – GY-521 MPU-6050 3-Axis Gyroscope and Accelerometer.
How many pins does I2C use?
This library allows you to communicate with I2C / TWI devices. On the Arduino boards with the R3 layout (1.0 pinout), the SDA (data line) and SCL (clock line) are on the pin headers close to the AREF pin….Wire Library.
| Board | I2C / TWI pins |
|---|---|
| Mega2560 | 20 (SDA), 21 (SCL) |
| Leonardo | 2 (SDA), 3 (SCL) |
| Due | 20 (SDA), 21 (SCL), SDA1, SCL1 |
What is the purpose of a gyroscope?
Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) gyroscopes are motion sensors that detect and measure the angular motion of an object. They measure the rate of rotation of an object around a particular axis: 1-axis, 2-axis, and 3-axis.
How to use the gy-521 module ( mpu-6050 )?
Home Tutorials Arduino Tutorial: How to use the GY-521 module (MPU-6050 breakout board) with the… GY-521 breakout board with an MPU-6050 MEMS. GY-521 breakout board with an MPU-6050 MEMS.
How to connect Mpu 6050 to Arduino Mega?
When one MPU-6050 is to be accessed, take that device’s A0 pin low and communicate with it using Add0. The other’s will be looking for communications at Add1 and thus will not respond. If the MPU6050 is a 3.3V device, then you should also remove the pullup resistor network package on the Mega that pulls SCL/SDA to 5V.
Can a gy-521 be connected to an Arduino Uno?
VCC (the GY-521 board has a onboard voltage regulator therefore either 5v or 3.3v can be connected.) AD0 (when this pin set to low the I2C address of the board will be 0x68, when it is set to high the I2C address will be 0x69) The connections are given as follows: VCC to any 5v out pin of Arduino Uno. GND to any ground pin of Arduino Uno.
What are the I2C pins for the mpu-6050?
I2C is D20, D21 (or D21, D22) on the Mega. The MPU-6050 has an A0 pin to select from one of two addresses, let’s call them Add0 and Add1 for simplicilty. Connect each MPU-6050 A0 pin to a unique Mega pin. When none are being addressed, have each Mega output high.
