What is a naturalistic Conlang?
A naturalistic artlang is an artlang that is designed to resemble a natlang. A good naturalistic artlang has a grammar as complex as grammars of natlangs and avoids unnatural features such as self-segregating morphology or a taxonomic vocabulary.
Can a language be created?
Constructed languages, or conlangs for short, are languages that have been “consciously devised” rather than having naturally developed. This basically means that an individual or a group of people took the time to develop, or construct, a new phonology, grammar, and vocabulary, thus, inventing a new language.

A constructed language is a language–such as Esperanto, Klingon, and Dothraki–that has been consciously created by an individual or group. A person who creates a language is known as a conlanger. The term constructed language was coined by linguist Otto Jespersen in An International Language, 1928.

What can be done to make a conlang more natural?
Obviously, changing that (e.g., introducing irregular conjugations or declensions, variant stress, etc.) is necessary to make the language feel more natural, but is it sufficient? What other ways are there to make a conlang less “artificial”?
How are loanwords added to a natural language?
Every natural language has more or less loanwords. Adding some loanwords to your conlang adds to the naturalness. So how do loanwords differ from the original words, after all it is a conlang and the loanwords are constructed, too?
Do you have to emulate history in conlang?
Any conlang that wishes to look naturalistic therefore needs to emulate history as well. I’ll show in what ways history can manifest with a bunch of examples from different areas. Almost no language with a history of writing has a fully regular orthography.
