What is a replica geodatabase?
Geodatabase replication allows you to create copies of data across two or more geodatabases such that changes to the data may be synchronized. The replica describes what data has been replicated and contains the information needed to synchronize changes.
How do I find the version of ArcGIS?
Open the Version Manager dialog box using one of the following methods:
- In the Catalog tree, right-click a connection to the geodatabase, point to Administration, click Administer Geodatabase, then click the Versions tab.
- In ArcMap, click the Version Manager button on the Versioning toolbar.
How does geodatabase replication work in versioning?
Integrate replication into your versioning workflows—Geodatabase replication is built on top of traditional versioning. At replica creation time, a replica version is defined in both the parent and child replicas. This is the version from which you will send and receive changes during synchronization.
What does two way replication mean in ArcGIS?
Two-way replication. Two-way replication allows data changes to be sent multiple times from the parent replica to the child replica or from the child replica to the parent replica.
How does checkout replication work in ArcGIS Desktop?
Checkout/Check-in replication allows you to edit the data in the child replica and synchronize these edits with the parent replica. Once the data has been synchronized, you can no longer synchronize additional edits. If additional edits are required, you must create a new checkout replica.
When is a replica version defined in a replica?
