What is AltGr on Mac keyboard?
In macOS, the Option key has functions similar to the AltGr key. AltGr is used similarly to the Shift key: it is held down while another key is struck in order to obtain a character other than the one that the latter normally produces. AltGr and Shift can also sometimes be combined to obtain yet another character.
How do you press ALT GR on a Mac?

Do you have to type AltGr on Windows?
On the Windows version, you have to re-train your muscle memory, because some keys have become dead keys by default. For example, to get a ” in the Windows keyboard, you have to type AltGr + “. Secondarily, the Linux layout has many more symbols available to type, including some that I use frequently (such as curly quotes).
