What is an invoice link?
A payment link is a way to request payment from customers who are paying for your goods or services outside of a traditional online store purchase. It’s essentially a “Pay Now” or “Pay Invoice” button sent to customers via email.

- Include the invoice as an attachment. Don’t paste your invoice into the body of the email.
- Include all the important information in the subject line.

- Make sure your invoice includes everything the client needs to know.

As long as you are the only owner, your business starts when your business activities start. In the United States of America, you are automatically a sole proprietor and are therefore free to invoice clients as necessary.

Using LEDGERS, you can collect payment by sending SMS with a payment link to the customers. While creating an invoice or an estimate, select the Send Email with SMS Payment Link option under Notification Settings.

Put your business’ legal name, business address, and contact information (phone number, email, and website) at the top of the invoice document. This makes it easy for clients to reach you in case they have questions or disputes. If you have a company logo, be sure to add that as well!

You can generate invoice numbers sequentially or use invoicing software to automatically generate unique numbers and avoid duplicates. Include the invoice number at the top of the page along with the word ‘invoice’ in a medium-large font so that clients can immediately identify the document and give it the attention it deserves.
