How do I disable SWEET32 cipher?
The SWEET32 vulnerability can be resolved by disabling the 3DES cipher still used by Verastream Host Integrator session server. The only one used is TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA and it can be added to the disabledCipherSuites property in the file service-ctx.
Is there a way to disable the RC4 cipher suite?
Clients and servers that do not want to use RC4 regardless of the other party’s supported ciphers can disable RC4 cipher suites completely by setting the following registry keys. In this manner, any server or client that is talking to a client or server that must use RC4 can prevent a connection from occurring.
Is there a way to disable RC4 on SSL?
As you can see in the CipherSuite, it has RC4 and others disabled. Also the HonorCipherOrder will first try strongest cipher and then gradually try weak ones until server and client agree on one. Thanks !!!
Is there a way to disable RC4 in Apache?
The default setup has RC4 completely disabled, so no need for tampering with ciphers in the Apache setup. Except from ensuring that you use the latest ssl.conf as it is not installed by default but left as ssl.conf.rpmnew in the conf.d directory. In order to configure SSL I just had to specify the certificates, ServerName and DocumentRoot.
Where does the RC4 cipher value come from?
I reckon that this is where the RC4 cipher comes from: in the absence of any specification, which was the case for me since no specification was in the “global” context, the default value applies. This understanding ends what has been a mystery for me. Ironically, I’m about to switch to CentOS 7 when I find this explanation! HTH. Bad idea.
