What is competent observer?
Part of the reliability and validity of an Assessment Centre depends on using competent observers – people who have proven their competence in Observing behaviour, Noting behaviour, Classifying behaviour and Evaluating behaviour (ONCE).
Does safety pilot need current medical?
Must have a current medical. As a required flight crewmember, the safety pilot must have a current medical certificate. (FAR 61.3[c]) Must occupy the other control seat (normally, although not required, the right or “copilot’s” seat).

PRIVACY. Using a drone to film someone without their consent could land you in breach of privacy and data legislation. Make sure you obtain releases from anyone that you film, particularly anyone who was on their own private land when you filmed them.
What are the legal requirements to be a ” crewmember “?
Some of the regulations (although not all instances) also refer to a required crewmember. Anecdotaly I have heard of people being assigned as a crewmember on the spot so that they could fly in an aircraft that is limited to “crewmembers only” (i.e. some world war two era aircraft, etc.) by saying something like:

What does it mean to be a crewmember in an airplane?
