What is content staging?
Content Staging is an in-app separate content environment that allows you to update or create staged pages before publishing them to your production site. Content staging can be used during a website redesign project to stage existing pages using a new template.
What is staging for?
Staging is a copy of your production environment (your current live website) on a private server. This is a safe place that allows you to test any changes – major or minor – that you plan on implementing in a secure environment, preventing any unexpected errors on your live website.
How do I access content staging in HubSpot?
In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Website Pages. In the left sidebar panel, click the More tools dropdown menu and select Content staging.

How Can You Use Website Staging?
- Navigate to your cPanel or WordPress dashboard where you will find an option for ‘Staging’.
- Create your staging site by selecting the website you wish to copy and select the option to stage which may read as “Create Staging Copy” or some other variety.
How do you edit a staging site?
To edit your staging site, go to that URL and tack on /wp-admin to login (just as you would with your live site) and use the same credentials as your live site. Once your changes to the staging site are complete, click the Deploy site from STAGING to LIVE button and you’re all set!

What’s the difference between staging update and editing?
While a staging update is active for an entity, editing the entity is editing the current active staging update. It does not affect the baseline content, which is restored when the staging update ends. The Content Staging dashboard provides visibility into all planned site changes and updates.
